The University of Scranton Men's Ice Hockey team has a rich history. Talks of an ice hockey team began back in 1947. Prior to local rinks being established, the hockey team practiced on the frozen lakes and ponds of the Wyoming Valley in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The team has come a long way since then, playing as an NCAA Division III team until 2005. Currently, the team plays as an ACHA Division II team in the Colonial States Collegiate Hockey Conference (CSCHC).
